This story relates the fictional encounter between a young patient at Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children and Djetmattasankh, a 3000-year-old mummy. In 2009, the mummy was sent from the Royal Ontario Museum's Egyptian Display to the hospital, for scanning, under the supervision of Dr. Peter Lewin who was both a pediatrician and a paleopathologist. In this creative re-imagining, hilarity results!

Sam Fisher worked as a scenic carpenter on movie sets before quitting his day job to become a writer and teacher. A native of England, Sam now lives with his wife and children in Canada, where he teaches screenwriting and film production at NSCAD University. Scare Scape is his first novel.

Judy Hilgemann has been an artist and illustrator all her life. She has illustrated several books, including B is for Basketball, which was the official book of the 2011All Native Basketball Tournament and was shortlisted for the First Nations Communities READ program for 2014–2015. She is a member of the Island Illustrator’s Society and Federation of Canadian Artists. She lives in Queen Charlotte, BC.
